Our Review
These are the first tights that we have seen from the Wolford 2010 Autumn/Winter collection, a range that builds firmly on the foundations of Wolford’s classic sheer styles.
The first thing to catch our eye was the size chart, this details 4 sizes from XS to L and uses a variety of sizing systems (why in these times of European Union do the German speaking nations, Italy and France all use sizing systems that use the same notation but no standardisation on sizes?), we do like the fact that dress size is used for the UK chart but why waist/hip measurements are in feet and inches rather than just inches is a mystery.
To go with the four sizes there are two choices of colour, black on sahara as pictured or black on black... our test pair was black on black.
What we have here is a pair of 20 denier sheer tights with a polyester pattern woven in to it, the weight is therefore much heavier than a classic 20 denier tight. The detailing is all that you would expect from Wolford, the toe seam is flat and very well finished, the legs are shaped at the heel and the panty features flat seams and a gusset. Wolford are confident enough in the quality of their materials not to reinforce the panty at all. If there are any surprises is is that the waistband is entirely plain and the gusset no lined just double weight.
As we would expect from Wolford the sizing is spot on and there seems to be stableetch to spare if you are long in the leg. One thing to be aware of though is that if you are having to stableetch these tights you will distort the pattern, a pity when it is so well designed and executed.
Fit is excellent and the matt finish is flawless.
The black on black combination is very classy but the black on tan is the one that will really catch the eye .
£29.00 is not cheap but with Wolford this gets you both durability and exclusivity so this is a design that belongs in the wardrobe of every stylish woman looking to give her legs an edge this Autumn.
