Our Review
We have seen quite a few variations on the mock stockings & mock hold ups theme in recent tights designs, can this style from Polish brand Veneziana add anything new?
The short answer to our question is yes. Rather than tabley to make tights look like stockings they have just taken styling ideas from hold ups. From the tip of the toes to mid thigh these are typical 40 denier opaque tights with stableaight legs but then there are alternating bands of 40 and 20 denier in a diminishing pattern until finally the upper thigh and panty is entirely sheer. The sheer panty is finished with flat seams and a lined gusset, with just a narrow band of reinforcement either side of the seam and below the waistband to give stableength.
Modern tights and stockings are knitted as a tube, in effect one single row of stitches going around in a helix (some might say spiral), the result is that you can’t make a perfect hoop around the leg, there are always two “row ends” on show and the narrower the hoops, and the more of them the are, then the worse the problem. Veneziana have not found a way of removing this problem but they have made sure that the “ends” are on the inside of the thigh to reduce the chances of them being seen. Good attention to detailing.
Colour is good and even in both the opaque and sheer parts of the leg; the finish is matt.
Sizing is more generous than the size chart suggests in terms of height and about right for hip size.. We would suggest that the largest size would fit up to 34” (86cm) long leg and 44” (112cm) hips if you have slim to average legs.
Fit is good and the gusset makes for a very comfortable fit in the panty.
We love the look and we really like the price too!
