Only rarely are we unable to put our first impressions into words. But aside from a comment on how heavy they felt we could not come up with anything.
Once we had them off the card though things became a little easier, the usual beautifully detailed Gerbe waistband gave us a starting point. The flat body seams and cotton lined gusset gave a sense of quality. The shaped legs and the pattern from waistband to reinforced toes inspired us.
Of course tights are made to be worn, and these tights in particular need to be worn rather than simply inspected. The 20 denier description really tells you nothing, the sides of the legs are more like 30 denier with a matt finish, the diamond shaped areas in the front of the legs more of a sheer 15 denier.
Sizing seems a little less generous than some Gerbe styles we have tested but if you are within the sizes stated on the size chart they will fit beautifully.
Although from the 2003 Gerbe collection these tights will look up to the minute now. The colouring of black and burgundy is perfect for this season. The style will work with short skirts and shorts with black or burgundy shoes, and equally well with a longer shirt and boots.
Sadly since we obtained our test pair Gerbe have sold the last of their stock, but if you want a tableeat for your legs check out the other Gerbe styles.
