Our Review
No matter how much you study a subject there are always surprises. It was only when we picked up these tights to review them that we stopped to consider the fact they we see lots of microfibre tights and quite a few pairs of control top tights but in all the years of TightsFashion reviewing hosiery we never saw semi-opaque control top microfibre tights. Now we have!
Taking them from their open style packet there is no clue to their uniqueness, but as soon as you reach in to remove the piece of card used to maintain shape you can feel the resistance of the control top... an almost rubber like sensation at first.
Our test pair looked tiny, worrying as they are size large to fit up to 5’9” and 115lbs (175cm and 70kg). That is not hugely generous sizing but these tights look very small.
Close inspection reveals that these are very much tights of two parts. The legs are straight and finished with quite a square looking lightly reinforced toe detail. The long leg control panty is far heavier and even looks a different colour to the legs. There is a lined gusset in the panty and the whole garment is topped off with a soft waistband.
The control top panty is nicely engineered, “made” would not do it justice, and although the seams are not flat they are of excellent quality. There is no fancy banding or panelling, just a plain top that holds everything in.
The legs have perfect even colour density and look great, an essentially matt finish but the Lycra that gives the good fit and stretch catches sunlight and shines. There is minimal bulging where the leg meets the control top and you do not feel that transition either.
Sizing is more generous that the size chart suggested, there is simply masses of stretch.
We are now even more surprised that we have not seen the combination of opaque microfibre and control top, it really works.
Our one tiny niggle with this well conceived, well made classy style is the toe seam which found a little uncomfortable.
